Karin Goldstein is Curator of Collections and Library at Plimoth Plantation, and has an MA in Historical Archaeology and a Ph.D. in American Studies. Martha Sulya is Curator of Reproduction Artifacts at Plimoth Plantation, and is an M.A. candidate in Historical Archaeology.

Through a combination of lecture and hands-on activities, we will introduce Scouts to concepts of archaeology. These activities fulfill several of the requirements toward the completion of an archaeology merit badge. Talks include: a) what is archeology; b) the several ways archaeologists can learn from a site; c) the importance of preservation. Hands-on activities include: a) What is stratigraphy; and b) Introduction to seriation.
