Virtual Salesmanship Merit Badge

WHAT: Participants will learn how to work with customers, research markets, organize and present sales plan for a product or service. From these skills Scouts will learn self-confidence, motivation, friendliness, and the persistence necessary to overcome obstacles and solve problems. Sales can offer a challenging and rewarding career for those who enjoy interacting with people from all walks of life.

Earn the Salesmanship Merit Badge in just two online sessions taught by our East Bay Scout Shop Manager, Patrick Afonso. Patrick has been involved in scouting in the Narragansett council for 19 years. Patrick has four years of experience as a merit badge instructor at Camp Yawgoog, and has worked in the local scout shop for the past five years. Currently Patrick is the manager of the East Bay Scout Shop located in Swansea Massachusetts.

WHO: Open to all Scouts BSA members

HOW:  This Merit Badge will be taught in a virtual classroom. The class has a capacity of 15 Scouts. Small classroom size provides all students with the opportunity to share and interact with the counselors and other scouts. Scouts should be prepared to be challenged and to join the conversation ! Participants who do not engage with the class may not receive credit for the badge.

WHEN: This class will be held virtually over two sessions:

June 22, 2020 7:00PM-9:00PM EST.

June 24, 2020 7:00PM-9:00PM EST.

Scouts must attend both sessions to complete the offered requirements.

After registering, Scouts will receive a link and login information via email. Scouts will also receive instructor details that can be used to connect to the counselor on Scoutbook. This assures that completed requirements are easily recorded.

PREREQUISITES: Please have requirement 7a completed prior to the class.
