Zombie Apocalypse Klondike

Hi all troops and crews of the Narragansett Council,

This letter is to give you some info on the up-coming Klondike Derby that will be at Buck Hill on Feb. 9 2013.  This event will be packed with many stations to test the skills of all the Scouts.  You must pre-register before the event at www.narragansettbsa.org.  All station leaders should get there no later than 7.30am to get their station ready.   There will be no driving around buck hill after 7.30am for the safety of the scouts.  You must park outside the main gate, only the station leader’s vehicles will be able to drive in. The check in time for units will start at 8am at Pulver lodge.   There the scouts will be given their sled number and packet for the day. Opening will be at 9:15 and there is no set time for lunch, the sleds eat when they have time during the day. The stations will close at 3.00 PM followed by a sled leaders’ challenge and a closing and awards ceremony at 4pm. 

Any troop or crew attending will be asked to run a station. We would like to have 30 stations and will need help to run them. If there are large units or units that can spare an extra person, let us know so we may use you to run more than one station.  If you came last year to this Klondike and you would like the same station, let us know.

If you are planning on attending this Klondike, please register at www.narragansettbsa.org and  e-mail the event host at gunguy44mag@aol.com  with your unit and sled counts.  There will also be a Station Leader meeting at the January round table on 1/10/2013, 7pm at 1 Amica Way in Lincoln at 7.00.  If you can’t attend please let us know.
